CACHE DAUGHTERS OF UTAH PIONEERS (DUP)
International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers (ISDUP)
ISDUP was founded in 1901 to honor the men, women and children that settled Utah. We share their achievements and stories while preserving their artifacts and historic landmarks. DUP serves to educate the people of today about their pioneer forebears in many ways, including museums and relic halls. There are over 100 satellite museums under the umbrella of ISDUP that serve their local communities.
CACHE PIONEER MUSEUM
The Cache DUP Museum is part of the ISDUP organization. We follow the ISDUP purpose to share the stories of the pioneers by focusing on the history of Cache Valley. Our museum has artifacts, photos and histories of those who settled Cache Valley.
The first Cache DUP Museum was established in 1928 where Logan High currently stands in a rock barn that was owned by Hezekiah Thatcher. In 1966 the DUP established a new museum on 200 North in conjunction with the Cache Chamber of Commerce. The DUP and Chamber of Commerce moved to their present location at 160 N. Main Street in 1990.
Our collection consists of items donated to the DUP Museum by descendants of the early pioneers. We welcome additional donations that fit within our mission statement.
VISION
The Cache Pioneer Museum will provide dynamic education about the early inhabitants of Cache Valley through exhibits, outreach and special events, while actively preserving artifacts and histories.
STRATEGIC PLAN GOALS
Connect the community to the Cache Pioneer Museum and its resources
Provide a rewarding experience for museum visitors
Share training with other local museums
Develop partnerships with Cache Valley organizations
Follow best practices of museum collection and management
